Jean-Michel Basquiat became well-known for his graffiti duo ‘SAMO’ in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and rose to fame by his 20s. Heads, skulls are major themes in his works which was inspired from his reading ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ at the age of 7.
Jean-Michel Basquiat was the youngest artist to be exhibited in Whitney Biennial at the age of 22.
Nowadays, Basquiat still has strong influence on art, trend, design industry.
